1. Submit written testimony
We encourage all supporters to submit written testimony and to join us for the watch party (see #4, below). There is no deadline, but testimony should ideally be submitted within a few days of the hearing. See the committee website for details on how to submit written testimony
2. Sign up to speak at the public hearing
We are also seeking subject matter experts, grassroots leaders, and those with powerful personal stories to speak the day of the hearing. Speakers must pre-register with the committee by Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 5PM. Once registered, you will receive an invitation to join the hearing one day prior to the hearing. Please note there is a time limit of 3 minutes per person for oral testimony. Pre-register via this form.
3. Send a quick message to your legislators
Use this Action Network Form (or send an individual email yourself) to let your legislators know about your support for the pesticide bills being heard. Ask them to attend the hearing and weigh in with the ENRA committee in support.
If you have a legislator on the ENRA committee, it would also be helpful to send Letters to the Editor.
4. Attend our Watch Party!
NOFA/Mass will be hosting a "virtual watch party" for anyone and everyone to watch along! This will be a fun way to learn about the process and how we can work together to pass these bills from the committee.
Here's a facebook event for the watch party
Here's a direct link to the zoom registration link for the watch party
You can also read more background about the hearing on the NOFA/Mass blog and learn about the bills that will be considered.
5. Keep an eye out for our joint testimony
Later this week we will also be issuing a "sign-on" letter to add your name/organization to our joint testimony, if you so wish.
This is our chance to make a loud and clear call for the legislature to take meaningful action on pesticides. Please join us and please spread the word about this important event!
