Do bats really 'suck blood'? Will bats fly into my hair and get stuck there? Bats can be one of the most misunderstood of wild animals, yet in reality are mostly harmless and very beneficial to humans. In many parts of the world, bat guano (or droppings) serves as a highly efficient fertilizer and current research is examining whether the saliva of some species can be used as an anticoagulant enzyme to treat stroke victims. Learn all about New England bats, the ways they benefit people and planet, current research, and the truth about these amazing mammals.
