Led by David Morgan, Environmental Planner, Town of Arlington
By 2080, the Boston region’s climate will be like that of Baltimore today—about 7–10 degrees warmer on average. What does this mean for our local ecosystems, and how do we plan to support them during this transition? Discover the surprising stories of the ecologies you inhabit and learn climate-smart practices that will help seed the ecosystems of the future. Consider the town’s landscape ecology and how our yards, open spaces, and transportation corridors support the flora and fauna we live alongside. Discuss practices that residents can incorporate into their gardens and stewardship activities to help native species adapt. We will also look at Town initiatives and volunteer efforts that are considering climate adaptation for the more-than-human world.
