Addition to Sept. 23 agenda:  Town Energy Manager Ken Pruitt will present the Draft Net Zero Action Roadmap, from the Town's Clean Energy Future Committee, with particular attention to proposed greenhouse gas mitigation measures.

All are welcome.

We invite discussion of environmental and climate issues affecting Arlington and its residents.  The September agenda is posted here and on the Town of Arlington website calendar. We meet on Zoom. Please register in advance.

If you have not used Zoom before, please join the meeting 5 to 10 minutes early.

At the start of the meeting, we will:                                  

  1. Confirm first and last name of everyone on the call for the minutes and make sure that everyone can hear each other
  2. Read Preamble to Remote Meetings
  3. Introduce all members, staff, and persons on the agenda
  4. Review “ground rules” for online meetings
  5. Meeting materials will be available online through Novus or Town website for the public

      1. We will be submitting the previously proposed fossil fuel bylaw as a Home Rule Petition to the special Town Meeting scheduled for November.
      2. Parke Wilde from Extinction Rebellion talks about their proposed Climate Emergency resolution

        2. Vote regarding participation in the Arlington Global Day of Climate Action. September 25, 5-6pm. (Wear a mask, practice social distancing). Part of global actions from the #FridaysForFuture movement inspired by Greta Thunberg. After this event, at 6pm, please stay for the nightly peaceful Black Lives Matter vigils along Massachusetts Avenue. Signs speaking up for racial justice are welcome at the Global Day of Climate Action.
