SPEAK IN FAVOR OF CARBON PRICING
Tues., April 4, 6:30-8:30 pm
Town Hall Forum at Warren Conference Center
529 Chestnut St, Ashland, MA 01721
This is part of the State Senate’s listening tour. Anyone who goes will get the opportunity to speak for 90 seconds to two minutes, in front of 15-20 State Senators about what issues they think the State Senate should prioritize. It’s an incredible opportunity to emphasize the importance of carbon pricing to half the State Senate. It is important to mention how beneficial carbon pricing is for Massachusetts and why you think this step should be a focus for the State Senate.
The Senators are really there to just listen. They won’t be asking questions. The earlier people get there, the earlier they can sign up, testify, and be able to leave. To make a big impression, it’s also extra helpful to bring signs. They can be as simple as ones that say “PRICE CARBON” but they’ll have a big effect if you hold them up as people walk in and during the forum.
Those who went to the last hearing in Lowell made an important impression. Right now this is the most important thing we can do to move Carbon Pricing forward. If we can pass it in Massachusetts, it will have a national impact,
See below for info on Senator Mike Barrett's bill S.1821.
Any way you can spread the word and get the biggest turnout possible will really advance the issue.
